DAY TWO
~ Nightmare In Plaid! ~

...There I was, minding my own business...
Really... the things that happened to me! And all because of a great smelly sneeze! I was shot like cannon fire into the atmosphere on a vaporous cloud of halitosis!
And what do you think happened then? A great whirling ball of snow snatched me up and hurtled me through the air, until... SPLATTT! It threw me smack into a nightmare in plaid! It was horrendous! No one should be subjected to that much plaid in one lifetime, much less close enough to cause your eyes to cross! What is the world coming to? I tell you it's a conspiracy to invade the world with ugliness! Of course, there are some very beautiful plaids in the world, but this was not one of them! And to think that I, Sylvia P. Fflake - whose one desire is to bring such beauty into the world as to glorify GOD - should have been subjected to this! Well, it was almost beyond thinking!
But the nightmare didn't end there! That plaid wearing creature brushed me off (me!) like so much dust, and I fell to the snow covered ground where I was stepped on by a hound, pinched between the grubby little pads of its foot and dragged all over town!
What a hideous way to travel... through dirt and gravel and wretched bits of moldering old gum... not to mention the hazards of yellow snow! But even then I could not have imagined the utter revulsion of what was to come!
After making the rounds to beg scraps, dig old bones out of the snow, and a couple of neetings to sniff inappropriate areas of other mangy mutts which I'd just as soon forget, the hound arrived at what was to be my final destination of the day... THE CITY DUMP!
The odors that filled me with such an overwhelming disgust seemed to send the hound into complete raptures of joy as it rolled about the carcasses of loathsome little decaying creatures! This went on all afternoon until the hound jumped up to peer into a garbage can and I was flung into the dank and revolting inner recesses of a world that I had, until now, never imagined... for the can was filled with living things! It was a journey into further misadventure!
