DAY FIVE
~ The Northern Realms! ~

...Away we go!...
There was a sudden rushing of sound and color from below as I fell... landing on something soft, yet familiar...
Oh, not again! Was I to be forever plagued by hounds?!! And this one was moving so fast! Oh, no! What part of the hound had I landed on? To have fallen this low... from the beauty of pristine white snow sculptures... to hound hinnies!
But, what was this? Why, it was a dogsled! Well, I don't suppose just any flake could travel by dogsled to The Northern Realms! And it was exhilarating to rush along so fast that if I hadn't already been a frozen bit, I'd have become one!
...The Great Pine Forest...
There was a sudden hush as the sounds of civilization were left far behind and I was enclosed in a world filled only with the panting of the dogs as they pulled the sled over the crisply crunching snow, through silent towering pines that stretched along the endless miles of The Northern Realms.
...But then I noticed other things...
The bright red of a cardinal against a wall of white, the sculpted lines of a tiny waterfall... frozen as it fell, the velvet brown eyes of an out-of-season fawn nestled in the pure white snow along the trail, the soft whispering of the wind through the pines... I even began to appreciate the rhythmic movements of the hound through the snow.
It occurred to me then, that we can see the handiwork of THE CREATOR everywhere we look! And it needn't take great thoughts of wisdom to figure it out... that feeling of awe in your heart at the beauty of these things is knowledge enough to the searching heart.
But do you know, just as I was thinking these great thoughts, the hound fell and swatted me off with its mangy tail, causing me to fly off into further misadventure...
