DAY EIGHT
~ A Fine Kettle Of Fish! ~

...It was a whale of a tale!...
There was an enormous 'SPLASH' and we landed hard... bobbing about like a bobber on a fishing line! I'd never been in the water before, so when I heard the big gulp I never dreamed we'd been swallowed by a whomping great whale!
Oh, the smells in there... simply revolting! For once I was perfectly happy to be in the dark. I mean, there are some things you just don't want to know!
Why, it made me think of Jonah and what he must have gone through! Mind you... he did bring it on himself... refusing to obey THE CREATOR the way he did! Well, it all came out right in the end, didn't it? The whale spit him out, he decided it would be wise to obey THE CREATOR, and all of Ninevah turned away from their wicked ways and back to THE CREATOR! I do love a happy ending!
You know, there were some very strange sounds inside of that whale... strange rumblings and creakings, and... in the distance... coming ever closer... singing!
"We are fish that swim about...
We went in, and can't get out!
It started out as one big lark,
But now we sing here in the dark!
If you know the way outside...
Won't you please give us a ride?
Gastric juices sting our eyes...
When the bile starts to rise!
So we'd like to leave this place,
We'd even let you tag and chase...
If just once the tide would turn!
'No play with whales,' we did learn!
So... if we tickle him just once...
And pull off these smashing stunts,
Maybe then he'd let us go...
Back to the sea that we love so!"
AND IT WORKED! Who would've thought that little fish who'd escaped from their school could pull it off! They just tickled his tummy and suddenly his whole rib cage contracted, and we shot out up through the sea and into the air, falling once again to further misadventure...
